About Me

The German Accent Guy Peaking out of a maintenance shaft.

Hi, I’m René — also known as the German Accent Guy. I’ve been passionate about camping and outdoor adventures for most of my life, and over the past decade, I’ve also delved into urbex and prepping, combining curiosity, exploration, and self-reliance.

For over 20 years, I worked as a software engineer, but in February 2025 I took the leap and started my YouTube channel. Before that, I had already spent more than a decade running an outdoor blog (derbholz.de), sharing my experiences and knowledge long before YouTube became part of the journey. Since then, it’s been growing steadily, and I’m now focused on turning my passion into a full-time adventure. On my channel and website, I share practical tips, gear reviews, and exploration experiences — all with a touch of humor and, of course, my German accent.

Whether you’re a fellow prepper, camper, or just curious about the lost places I visited, I hope my content inspires you to explore, prepare, and enjoy life outside the ordinary.
